Aethel & Aurawas born from a desire to create clothing that feels as good as it looks. Every piece tells a story.
It started with a single idea: what if clothing could capture the same feeling as standing in front of a beautiful painting?
In 2018, founder Elara Vance left her career in architecture to answer that question. She envisioned a brand that bridged the gap between art and everyday life—where silhouettes are sculptural yet wearable, where colors are chosen with the precision of a painter, and where every garment is made to be cherished, not discarded.
Today, Aethel & Aurais a collective of artisans, designers, and storytellers based between Lisbon and New York. We travel the world to source the finest natural fabrics and partner with small-batch manufacturers who share our commitment to ethical production.
Shop Our StoryWe use only natural, sustainable fibers—organic cotton, linen, responsible wool, and deadstock fabrics. No virgin synthetics.
Every piece is made in small batches by skilled hands. We celebrate the imperfections that make each garment unique.
We don't follow trends. We create pieces designed to live in your wardrobe for decades, not just a season.
In a world of fast fashion and fleeting trends, Aethel & Aurais a pause. We believe in buying less, choosing well, and making it last.
Our design process is intentionally slow. A single piece can take months to perfect—from sketching and draping to sourcing the exact shade of thread. We don't release collections based on the traditional fashion calendar. Instead, we launch when a piece is ready, when it meets our standards of beauty and integrity.
This approach isn't efficient. But it's honest. And we believe you can feel the difference when you hold a Aethel & Aurapiece in your hands.
